Investigation of Tissue Formation within 3-Phasic Scaffolds in vitro

چکیده
Introduction In this study, we contemplate to prepare a new type of scaffold which mimics natural bone and consists of three different components, namely biphasic polymeric base from two different biodegradable polymers prepared by using dual porogen approach, bioactive agents, i.e., collagen and hydroxyapatite (HA) particles which distributed throughout the scaffold only on the pore surfaces. Interaction of these bioactive scaffolds with very high porosity and interconnected pore structures with cells were investigated by using a MG63 osteoblastic cell line.

Tissue Engineered Scaffolds in Regenerative Medicine
Stem cells are self-renewing cells that can be differentiated into other cell types. Conventional in vitro models for studying stem cells differentiation are usually preformed in two-dimensional (2D) cultures. The design of three-dimensional (3D) in vitro models which ideally are supposed to mimic the in vivo stem cells microenvironment is potentially useful for inducing stem cell derived tissu...
متن کاملIn vitro and In vivo Investigation of poly(lactic acid)/hydroxyapatite nanoparticle scaffold containing nandrolone decanoate for the regeneration of critical-sized bone defects
Objective(s): Bone tissue engineering is aimed at the fabrication of bone graft to ameliorate bone defects without using autografts or allografts. Materials and Methods: In the present study, the coprecipitation method was used to prepare hydroxyapatite (HA) nanoparticles containing nandrolone. To do so, 12.5, 25, and 50 mg of nandrolone were loaded into poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/nano-HA, a...
متن کاملTherapeutic metallic ions in bone tissue engineering: A systematic review of the literature
An important field of bone tissue engineering (BTE) concerns the design and fabrication of smart scaffolds capable of inducing cellular interactions and differentiation of osteo-progenitor cells. One of these additives that has gained growing attention is metallic ions as therapeutic agents (MITAs). The specific biological advantage that these ions bring to scaffolds as well as other potential ...

Several characteristics of a novel PLGA/Merwinite scaffold were examined in the present study to evaluate the possible applications in bone tissue regeneration. Physical and mechanical properties, as well as degradation behavior and in vitro bioactivity of porous scaffolds produced by solvent casting and particle leaching technique were also characterized. Results showed that incorporation of m...
